Maison des Landes Hotel

Tours and Transportation

It’s appreciated at Maison des Landes that not everyone is capable of driving a car or would even want to bring their car to Jersey and this could leave guests without any form of transport. Included in the price is collection from the harbour or airport in our fleet of specially adapted mini-buses.

We provide, at no extra charge, daily sightseeing tours conducted by knowledgeable and caring drivers in our specially-equipped minibuses. The tours visit major places of interest, Jersey’s magnificent beaches and shopping centres and usually depart mid-morning with stops for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, returning in plenty of time for dinner. Evening tours featuring visits to the theatre, bowling etc. are also available according to demand and availability.

Some of the places of interest that we will visit include:

Jersey War Tunnels

Jersey War Tunnels tells the compelling story of islanders under Occupation. Rendered defenceless by the UK, Jersey residents had to choose between staying and going, both of them as uncertain as each other. Those who remained, without weapons to fight with, found their own ways to resist before finally, after five long years, the day of liberation arrived.

Jersey Botanic Gardens

The creation of these unique gardens is a response to an ever increasing public interest in gardening and plants. Originally created in the nineteen twenties by millionaire shipping magnate and philanthropist, Sir James Knott, they have undergone substantial restoration, diversification and development.

aMaizin! Adventure Park is a family-run business that offers a warm welcome to their award winning attraction.

Join in with the fun as many of the activities are suitable for adults, or relax and watch the children explore, learn and gain confidence with their new- found friends in a stimulating, safe and well-maintained environment.

Wetwheels is a purpose-built power catamaran that allows disabled and disadvantaged people in Jersey to experience the sheer thrill of being at sea whilst being on a safe and reliable vessel. She can be used for fishing trips, exploring the coast or learning how to pilot the craft.

Helping Wings

Helping Wings is a charity enabling the disadvantaged and the disabled of all ages to share the exhilaration and fulfillment of flying.

Jersey Zoo – Durrell

At Jersey Zoo you’ll come face to face with some of the rarest animals on earth. Be amazed by their beauty, wonder at their majesty and uncover their stories of fight for survival in the wild.

The Trust, created by Gerald Durrell in 1963, has as its mission: saving species from extinction. It continues to make a difference through pioneering work and sheer determination, and shares his conviction that its work is absolutely vital to the well being of the planet. That the Trust enjoys an internationally respected, influential position today is thanks to the foresight, passion and drive of the founder.

Most areas of the site are accessible by wheelchair and pushchair via pathways. Shopmobility motorised scooters (£10) and wheelchairs (£6) are available to hire at the Visitor Centre entrance. These facilities can be booked in advance by contacting the Visitors Centre.

Eric Young Foundation

One of the finest collections of orchids in all the world is to be found at the Eric Young Orchid Foundation. Deep in the heart of the Jersey countryside at Victoria Village, Trinity, it is housed in a purpose-built nursery and exhibition complex formally opened in June 2001.
