Maison des Landes is a charitable trust set-up by the Lions Club of Jersey to provide holidays in Jersey specifically for people with a disability, along with their family, friends and carers. We’ve been welcoming guests with disabilities since 1960’s. Our newly refurbished premises combined with 50 years of experience enable us to give people the kind of break they thought they may never be able to enjoy again.
In 2021 we commenced a £3.8 million refurbishment of the property to further enhance the experience of our visitors. When the hotel reopened in 2023 we also launched the Community Hub - an inclusive social space and meeting place that it open to individuals, local disability groups and organisations. Whilst these improvements are fantastic for visitors and locals alike, funding our work remains a constant challenge. On 15th November 2024, a group of 22 cyclists from Jersey successfully cycled 500km from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia in aid of respite breaks for caregivers at Maison des Landes.
The Challenge took the team past the rice paddies and waterways of the Mekong Delta, over bridges and across rivers, in tropical heat and torrential downpours. And it's all for a fantastic cause. Every penny raised by the team will go towards providing breaks for Jersey caregivers at Maison des Landes.
