Frequently Asked Questions

All guests are met at their point of arrival (either Airport or Harbour) and transferred to Maison des Landes in our specially adapted minibuses and is included in the cost of your stay.

The hotel has a liquor license and small bar open to residents. Wine, beers, spirits and cold drinks are available at reasonable cost.

We try and cater for all dietary requests and would ask guests to inform us of any special requirements when completing their booking form and at least a month prior to arrival.

The hotel has a large fully-accessible heated indoor swimming pool with a special ramp for wheelchair and easy walk-in access and a hoist for ease of transferring.

We have specially adapted minibuses to take guests to local places of interest including the beach, tourist destinations and shopping trips.

Nursing care is not provided within the hotel, therefore guests must either be able to attend to their personal needs or be accompanied by an able-bodied guest capable of doing so.

Locally-based agencies can provide a nursing care service. There are also UK agencies should carers be required for the journeys. We are more than happy to offer guidance on this matter.

It may also be possible to organise a District Nurse to call to the hotel to administer injections, change dressings, etc. This needs to be organised well in advance via a UK doctor and the Family Nursing & Home Care (Inc) on 01534 443600. If you are requiring this service you must also register with a doctor in the Island, have medical authorisation sheets and referral letters and again this service would be charged directly at the guest’s expense. A list of suitable agencies can be found here.

Our large communal areas lend themselves to our guests being able to mingle with other guests, have a quite time doing a puzzle, watch TV or a film, or join in with a group activity.

Maison des Landes welcomes anyone seeking respite. If you are a carer and would like a relaxing break of a few days or longer, then Maison des Landes could be ideal for you. Find out more by visiting our respite breaks page.
